This information is also a key link with my Journal also.
Ring-a-ring o' roses,
A pocket full of posies,
A-tishoo! A-tishoo!
We all fall down
A-tishoo! A-tishoo!
We all fall down
This Traditional folk and playground song was often based on the
Great Plague in England in 1665 and also associated with the Black Death,
creating less of a playful meaning. ‘Roses’ are the red rash on the skin like circle,
‘pockets full of posies’ were filled with smelling herbs, ‘A tishoo’ due to the
bad smells
But to translate all the classical nursery rhymes into my set is a very large undertaking so I picked some of my favorite and most memorable rhymes that everyone can relate to.
Ring A Ring Of Roses
Rock A By Baby
Humpty Dumpy
Jack & Jill
Women Who Lives In A Shoe
These are some of the elements I will look at thought out this project.
What I plan to do next with these sketchbook pieces is to develop some of the colour's more on Photoshop, incorporate a more simple background layer, I am also going back into printing workshops so I can re-fresh my knowledge of the equipment an see how I can incorporate my narratives into a surface or wallpaper design.
