Aude Van Ryn is a very accomplished illustrator, she has worked with very well known publishers in the Varoom Publication was where I first became interested in her work. Sometimes in my work I over complicate the layers and add to many surfaces, what Rye does is adds simple texture that are effect but doesn't overpower the composition. This image for example she has a lot of vibrant shapes and tones to but bring the composition together she combines a simple wood texture to replicate a texture of a table, by doing this she brings all her elements together and by adding the texture it adds depth and interest to the piece. This is one of my aims this year is to combine details in the important elements of my narratives and add a simple colour pallet to bring them together Rye is a great influence of mine and I will be following her work.
